In another bid to support entrepreneurs and enhance their security, the state government has decided to link commercial establishments with UP-112 to ensure prompt assistance in event of any attacks and vandalism.
Now, if you contact a police response vehicle, it will reach a commercial establishment quicker. Besides police, other services like medical assistance and fire service will also be available to these establishments. Earlier, on calling UP 112 in an emergency, assistance used to take four-five minutes extra than normal time in reaching the spot.
A senior home official said, “The state government has given its nod for the implementation of this service to ensure that commercial establishments get police, medical, fire service assistance in minimum time.”
Additional chief secretary (home) Awanish Awasthi said, “Under the initiative, the locations of 9,636 of agencies have been integrated with UP 112 so far, and out of these 4,428 sites have been visited by police response vehicles of UP 112 and their physical security survey was conducted.”
“A total of 684 registrations have been done so far through the ‘Link UP 112 Registration’ option on the main page of the UP 112 website, out of which 17 registrations have been done by private security agencies and the rest by public,” said another official.
Officials said private security agencies should be registered and have security personnel besides being involved with warehouses or some other industrial activity in the state to be eligible for this scheme.
