The day also coincides with the birthday of the Group’s Founder and Group Chairman – a renowned and respected leader in the industry, Dr. R. K. Sinha.
SIS commenced operations as a two-member company in 1985 and has since transformed into one of the market leaders in the Asia Pacific region, in Security, Facility Management and Cash Logistics segments, all of which are essential to the functioning of a healthy economy. For the past 50 years the group has strived to steadily build its greatest asset, its over 285,000 strong team members which has made it to rank amongst the top 5 employers in India!
Apart from the grit and tenacity of its workforce this would only have been possible by leveraging the power of technology. The group was among the first to adopted a tech-led approach which has steadily brought greater efficiency to the operation and offered a unique customer experience through its business management and monitoring digital platforms and applications like iOPS, ARK, SalesMaxx, NQC, RQC, iPorter, SSDP, TFM, iQMS, iFMOps and MySIS app.
SIS Group Enterprises has one of the largest command centres in India to manage 5,00,000 sites while establishing a leadership position in the e-surveillance industry. Mr. R.K. Sinha, whose birthday is celebrated as Founder’s Day is credited with far reaching vision is a first-generation entrepreneur, Mr. Sinha envisaged Security and Intelligence Services (India) Limited – SIS Limited.
As a graduate of Political Science and Law, Mr. Sinha started his career as a journalist specialising in crime and political reporting in late 60s. He is a popular columnist and social activist & thinker. During that period, Sinha authored “Jan Andolan”, which is widely recognized as the first authentic research book on the student movement in India led by revolutionary leader Jai Prakash Narayan between 1970 – 1975. Since then he has authored many books such as Hotel Security & Executive Protection, and In the Era of Modi, amongst others.
Mr. Sinha is one of the founding members of the BJP. He represented BJP in Rajya Sabha as MP from 2014-2020. Mr. Sinha is a first generation entrepreneur who successfully started Security & Intelligence Services (India) Limited (SIS) in 1974.
The idea to set-up SIS was envisaged to help the retired ex-servicemen after the Indo – Pak war of 1971. It was his visionary leadership that helped bring about quality of service and standardisation in the company, owing to which SIS Security became a benchmark in the Private Security Industry.
Mr. RK Sinha’s vision was further carried forward by his dynamic son, Mr Rituraj Sinha, the Group Managing Director whose relentless efforts has turned the Group into a Fortune India 500 company and one of India’s largest private sector employers. His vision and bold efforts has taken the company to heights that are generally difficult to reach. SIS, a listed company on the BSE & NSE (stock exchanges), has crossed Rs 12,000 crore annual revenue mark in 2024!
Over the years Dr. R.K. Dr. Sinha is widely recognized for his philanthropy. This transformative support helps these students become successful and productive citizens of our nation. This year alone, 15 students have secured admission to prestigious academic institutions like the IITs and NITs.
