Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has outlined a security plan for the under-construction 29.8 km Metro track between Noida and Greater Noida. Officials said the proposed plan has been forwarded to the Uttar Pradesh government for approval. According to NMRC officials, the security of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro track will be the responsibility of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC).
“One battalion of the PAC with about 1,000 personnel will be posted along the entire corridor and they will be known as ‘Metro Force’,” said an NMRC official.
“It has also been decided that a police post will be set up at Sector 71 in Noida, while a police station will be set in place at the last station of the track in Greater Noida,” he said, adding, “Two dog and two bomb disposal squads will also be in place. Out of the eight companies in the battalion, two companies will comprise women 242 police personnel. The police station will also have 21 women constables.”
Officials said the security plan includes two quick response teams, which will include two doctors and two trainers. Every station will have a dozen CCTV cameras along with a control room. The police post at Sector 71 will also have the facility for registering an FIR. Security will be overlooked by a Chief Security Officer. “We have worked out logistics of the proposal and have now sent a report to the government for approval. Once we receive a go ahead, the proposal will be put into place.”
