Magal Security Systems, Ltd. has announced that it had signed a $13 million contract to provide security products as a subcontractor for Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a member of the Toyota Group. Magal’s security products would be installed at a “major international seaport in East Africa,” Magal said in a statement.
As part of the deal, Magal will provide a number of technologies, including perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS), cybersecurity systems, video management software (VMS), and intelligent video analytics (IVA). The company said that the technologies would be integrated into and managed by a physical security information management system (PSIM), also by Magal.
Founded in 1969 as a department of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and established as a private company in 1984, Magal is based in Yehud, 12 miles south-east of Tel Aviv. Nasdaq-listed Magal develops and markets physical and video security and site management products as well as cybersecurity systems for use in airports, seaports, borders, military bases, government facilities and other sensitive facilities in over 80 countries. “Our proven experience, engineering and integration capabilities, combined with our broad portfolio of home-grown security solutions and backed by Toyota Tsusho Corporation’s global presence and project management infrastructure, enabled us to win this challenging project,” Magal CEO Saar Koursh said in a statement.
