The Security Association of India has written to the ministry of Home Affairs, requesting the government to make the training syllabus of private security guards common for all states. Writing to the ministry, SAI President Mr Gurcharan Singh Chauhan has said that if the training certificate is issued by one state government, it is acceptable to another state only if the training syllabus matches that state’s syllabus otherwise the guard is expected to get training all over again as per the syllabus of the other state.
The SAI has exhorted the ministry to have a system in place wherein the training syllabus should be common for all states so that the training certificate issued at one place is accepted in another state.
Mr Singh said that if the syllabus is common for all states, it will ensure that the guard will not have to take the training all over again if he is transferred to another state. He said this was in accordance with the Private Security Agencies Central Model Rules 2020.
