Mr. Rajeev Sharma, Country Managing Director of G4S India has been appointed as Chair of the Private Security Industry Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). Mr. Rituraj Sinha, the Group Managing Director at SIS Enterprises, who previously held this position will now serve as an Advisor to the committee. Mr. Aditya Khemka, the Managing Director of CP Plus remains as its Co-Chair.
A release said that Rajeev along with the industry body, and other members engage with the government to explore sectoral development and growth possibilities, employment creation, and some much-needed changes to equip the sector with more ammunition for exponential growth. He will also align with the government’s agenda of Aatmnirbhar Bharat and contribute to the economic growth. The committee will also work with the Government to explore areas of public-private partnerships in the sector.
Mr. Sharma in a social media post said that FICCI is one of the strongest platforms to engage with the Government on growth and development of the sector. PSI in India today provides jobs to more than 10 million eligible youth and gives an opportunity to the retired personnel from armed forces to be a part of the PSI and continue to contribute in keeping India safe. Under the Agniveer scheme launched by the government on 14th June 2022, the soldiers after serving for 4 years with Indian armed forces, will be available to join the Private Security Industry and give confidence to the government about the PSI and its ability to even handle the core security responsibilities of the national critical infrastructure. “There is lot to do and I look forward to support from every member of this sector to drive the development and inclusion agenda with the Government of India,” he said
