Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (AITX), has announced that its Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD) subsidiary has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) with an East Coast school to deploy two ROSA security robots with firearm detection technologies. RAD has also announced the integration of its RADSoC and its full suite of AI analytics with existing networks of security cameras.
“This one deployment has the potential makings of a seminal moment for AITX and RAD,” says Steve Reinharz, CEO of AITX and RAD. “We knew from the start that we were a software company needing to build amazing hardware in order to execute our remarkable software. This school is about to deploy both.”
The company points out that RADSoC is RAD’s hybrid on-premises/Cloud series of applications that until recently had been limited to RAD devices. RAD says its plan of RADSoC integration with IP camera networks will open the market for it to address several hundred million security cameras deployed across its target markets.
ROSA (Responsive Observation Security Agent) is a compact, self-contained portable security communications solution that can be deployed in as quickly as 15 minutes. RAD also explains that its firearm detection technologies identify the presence of side arms and long guns. Upon detection, the company’s A.I. analytics system will perform a range of tasks, including the activation of local audio and video alerts; locking and securing doors, and these AI technologies will send notifications to remote monitoring stations, onsite security staff and law enforcement.
RAD cites a recent study released by Berg Insight that finds the estimated install base of connected video surveillance cameras in Europe and North America to grow at a CAGR of more than 18% growing from 183 million units in 2019 to more than 420 million units in 2024.
“We feel that this is the right time, and this is the right application, where we can throw open the doors to the RAD ecosystem and invite other security camera networks to take advantage of RAD’s incredible AI software suite,” comments Reinharz.
