The Nigerian Army has commenced training of security personnel of private companies to equip them with capacities to handle emerging security challenges. The Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General Johnny Hamakim declared open the two-day training workshop. He said the training was necessary so as to give private firms capacities and competences to checkmate the ugly trends.
He said security of any nation was sacred; hence it should be of great concern to all her citizens, groups and organisations. Hamakim, said the near ubiquitous emergence of terrorism, violent extremism, militancy and other violent crimes like kidnapping and armed robbery had since changed the narrative. “Today, terrorists strike at business premises and other soft targets just to cause havoc and announce their presence,” he said.
Hamakim said a series of lectures on relevant topics and practical demonstration of quality security service delivery models on terrorism and violent crime-prone environments, as well as other practical interactive sessions would form parts of the workshop.
