A training course from Firechief introducing the challenges and management around lithium-ion battery fires has been CPD accredited. The training course – ‘An introduction to the burning issues surrounding lithium-ion battery fires’ – is 45 minute-long, and is designed to provide information around living and working safely with lithium-ion battery powered devices and electric vehicles. It can be delivered either in-person or as an online webinar.
Firechief has been prominent in highlighting the growing problem of lithium-ion battery fires over the past few years, having presented at FIREX in May and a webinar on IFSEC Insider last November. Both presentations were very well attended, demonstrating the demand for education on the serious risks involved.
The course is designed for those who are responsible for health and safety or fire safety at work and want to understand the risks of lithium-ion battery fires in their organisation and identify and manage them. It covers:
● Learn about the magnitude of the risk which Lithium-ion battery fires pose
● See some examples of Lithium-ion battery fires
● Gain an understanding of why LiB fires happen
● Understand how to manage devices containing Lithium-ion batteries to help mitigate the fire risk
