Ipsotek, an Atos company specialising in artificial intelligence powered video analytics, has announced its collaboration with Sydney Trains, operator of rail services across the metropolitan Sydney area, to increase security capabilities at 13 stations.
Following a selection process, Ipsotek was selected by Sydney Trains to deliver an AI-based video analytics solution. This has seen the train operator integrate a range of Ipsotek’s AI-powered video analytics solutions with its security cameras to identify incidents of tunnel and track intrusions at 13 stations across the metropolitan Sydney area.

Ipsotek’s project with Sydney Trains follows the company’s delivery of an initial programme of work via the Innovate UK SBRI initiative for the development of Artificial Intelligence Video Analytics to enhance the rail experience for passengers and staff in the UK. The Station ADVISOR (Advanced Visual Detection of Risks) project aims to provide a scalable and cost-efficient, live station risk monitoring solution for use across the National Rail network.
According to the vendor, ADVISOR will enable station owners and operators to respond more proactively to risks and incidents in real time through visual analytics, integrated with station surveillance systems.
