ASIS India Chapter 207 holds first Breakfast Meeting

ASIS Breakfast Meeting 8.1.2014The first breakfast meeting of ASIS Delhi Chapter 207 for the year 2014, took place recently under the chairmanship of Mr. Sanjay Kaushik, who detailed the plans of the chapter for the year. The chapter meeting also had Mr. Omveer Singh, the Additional Director / Scientist ‘E’ at Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-India), Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

Mr. Singh spoke at length on the concept of mobile forensics. At CERT-In, Mr Singh is the team leader for the activities related to Cyber Forensic Investigations. He has singularly set up Cyber Forensics Lab at CERT-In for investigation of cyber crimes and is handling the related activities for the last ten years. Mr. Singh gave forth a presentation on the topic which had the present members actively involved in. Mr. Kaushik said the brief by the invited speaker was extremely informative and would go a long way in clearing doubts about the technology in the minds of the attendees. He said in future meetings too there would be an attempt to ensure that more such learned speakers are invited to enable the members to understand complex technologies that are being used in security these days.

Mr. Kaushik also announced the formation of Councils for various activities of the chapter. Those chosen to Chair the various Councils included Major Avtar Singh for Young Professionals Liaison; Ms Bhawna Beri for Women in Security Liaison /Women Safety; Mr. Gagan Upadhyay and Mr. Vimal Raj in Membership Council; Mr. Roop Singh Kuntal and Mr. Karan Bains for Programs and Mr. GB Singh as Chapter Newsletter Editor & Standards Council Chair. Co-Chair of the Standards Council is Mr. Abhay Ranjan.

Mr. Kaushik also declared that the next meeting of the Chapter would be held in Delhi on February 21, 2104 and the permanent office of the Chapter would be located in Gurgaon.
