The 1.5 lakh private security guards in the city will soon work as an extension of the police force in the state capital. As part of the ‘Safe and Smart Hyderabad’ project envisaged by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, both the city police commissioners are making specific and elaborate plans to curb crime rate in the city.
Chief cops of both the commissionerates will soon be holding meetings with representatives of private security agencies for the purpose. The plan is to collect mobile numbers of all private security guards in the city and send them SMS alerts in case of crimes like snatching or thefts in a particular locality. Regular alerts will also be sent to increase awareness about crime patterns.
