This year’s CII Symposium, titled ‘Innovative People Strategies for Competitiveness’, organized by CII Avantha Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs, was presided over by Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), as Chief Guest this year. During the discussion on Make in India – Incubating Leaders for Tomorrow, Mr. Rajiv Kapoor, HR Director, G4S India and Chairman HR & ER Committee, CII NR remarked, “To make ‘Make in India’s initiative a grand success, we, in our various work spheres, need Leaders who are change agents, who can execute as well as they can strategize. We need leaders who walk their talk, leaders who are adaptable and agile, leaders who can channelize productive thought. We need leaders who can roll-up their sleeves and do the needful – leaders who can innovate and are driven by a sense of urgency and fierce pride for their nation. He emphasised that the window of ‘Make in India’ will not remain open forever -we have at best three to four years to leverage this momentum and it is the quality of our current and future leaders at all levels that really matters.” He added, “G4S, being a multi-national company, provides several opportunities to employees to gain varied experience within the organization and grow into successful leaders. We are one of the largest employers in India with about 1.3 lakh employees in the country.”
At the day-long conference various important topics were deliberated, among them relevant subjects like Strategic Workforce, Choice for Enterprise Excellence, Innovative Work Place for Maximising Performance, Talent Development Strategies for Competitiveness and Incubating Leaders for Tomorrow.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog said, “The Government of India has taken many initiatives over the years to strengthen the Indian economy. There has been a tremendous positive impact from various stakeholders, who have participated in such endeavours.”
