Security supplier G4S acquired Canadian video and security systems company, i-Vision Systems Inc. i-Vision Systems Inc. designs, sources, installs and maintains integrated video monitoring and security systems across industrial and commercial sectors. Headquartered in Sudbury, Ontario, i-Vision has been in business in Canada for seven years and has led the market in high-end video applications.
It has partnerships with a number of suppliers of security products, some five certified technicians and an established network of subcontractors across the country. G4S will assume that expertise under the purchase agreement.
Peter Panaritis, CEO of G4S Canada, commented: “G4S is committed to growth in the technology and remote IP (internet protocol) monitoring markets. This acquisition of i-Vision, a company with over 5,000 IP encoders and DVRs (digital video recorders) across their Fortune 500 customer base, will help to bolster our technology offering to our existing and prospective clients.”
Security products and services using Internet Protocol, or IP, are digital systems commonly employed for surveillance, and which, unlike analog systems, can send and receive data between computers via local area networks or via the Internet. G4S recognizes the importance of IP technology to a security portfolio and the company anticipates that IP technology will continue to lead the market in the coming years.
