In a resounding testament to her unwavering commitment and remarkable accomplishments, Vashita has been named the recipient of the prestigious ASIS Karen Marquez Award for the year 2023. The Karen Marquez Honors is one of the highest awards, globally for female security professionals by ASIS International. It is organic, prestigious and an extremely coveted award with candidates from across the globe.
This well-deserved honour comes as a result of Vashita’s exceptional contributions to the Women in Security (WIS) community, serving as a beacon of inspiration and empowerment for aspiring women across the globe.
This award honours an ASIS International female security professional who has consistently worked for the betterment of the security industry. Karen Marquez was the Co-owner and Executive Vice President of MVM, Inc., a physical security services firm based in Virginia. Karen passed away in 2006 after a long battle with cancer. During her 23-year career in security, Karen developed and implemented core administration and support functions.
Vashita’s journey to this distinguished accolade has been marked by her outstanding achievements and selfless service propelling her to the forefront of the security industry and garnering well-deserved recognition. Through her trailblazing accomplishments and resolute efforts, she has shattered stereotypes and created unprecedented opportunities, opening doors for future generations to follow in her footsteps.
Her journey of excellence and empowerment will be celebrated and awarded at the upcoming 3 day event at Global Security Exchange (GSX) in Dallas in September 2023.
