Col (Ret) TN Shanmugham has been named as the Chief Operating officer (COO) of Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI) with effect from April 10. Col Shanmugham is an army veteran with over 30 years of experience in the army where he was commissioned in 1976. Col Shanmugham was shifted to Army Intelligence Corps in 1987 and has held several command appointments. During his tenure as the NCC Group commander in Trichy he was instrumental in conducting youth and student training in several schools and colleges. His efforts won the NCC group the “Chief Minister’s Banner”. Under his leadership the NCC Tamil Nadu Directorate also won the Prime Minister’s banner. He subsequently joined Reliance Retail as head of fraud management. He has had vast experience in fire safety and security both in the Indian army and in Reliance.
