Morpho Detection, a subsidiary of Safran’s Morpho security business and a maker of explosives, narcotics, chemical, radiological, and nuclear detection systems, has announced that Karen Bomba has been appointed as the company’s new president and CEO following the resignation of Brad Buswell. According to a statement, Bomba has more than a decade of executive experience leading organizations within Safran.
She most recently served as chairman and CEO of Labinal, Safran’s electrical wiring systems company. Bomba has also served as executive vice president and general manager, as well as chairman and CEO of Safran affiliate Messier-Bugatti USA.
Buswell, a former deputy undersecretary for science and technology at the Department of Homeland Security, was named CEO of Morpho Detection in July 2011 following the departure of Dennis Cooke. He will remain with the company as executive vice president for business development.
