108 Pvt security guards in GMCH terminated without notice

The employment of 108 private security guards has been lost in a Government Medical College and hospital (GMCH) in Nagpur. As the medical GMCH has terminated the services of a private agency.

The GMCH administration terminated the security agency contracts directly without giving any notice to 108 employees (security guards) working as security guards. The workers alleged that the agency also terminated the services of these security guards without giving any notice or reason.

According to the workers, on Labor Day, 108 security guards of a private agency were given a letter saying ‘your service is terminated from today’.
12 years ago, 108 employees had joined on a monthly salary of just Rs 4,400. Now they were getting a monthly salary of 6 thousand rupees. The GMCH contract with the private agency ‘Unity Security Force’, which is in the security service, was terminated.

The contract with the agency was not renewed as per the government order, hence the agency issued a termination letter to its security guards. These private security guards have served since the first patient of Corona virus was found in the GMCH hospital till date.
