G4S highlights the need for Smart Policing at ‘Securing India 2016’

At this year’s ‘Securing India 2016’conference, organized by Security Watch India, India’s leading security solutions provider, G4S, focused on the need for Smart Policing. As before, the conference witnessed deliberations of various subjects relevant to the security services’ sector such as Smart Security, Smart Policing and Smart Borders, among others.The two day-long conference witnessed participation from leading members of the government & industry, where insights were shared by some eminent experts and leaders on various aspects that are critical for safety and security of citizens. Some of the notable dignitaries who attended the conference include MeenakshiLekhi, Member Parliament and Spokesperson, BJP; Shri. Gopal Pillai, IAS (Retd.), Former Union Home and Commerce Secretary, Government of India; Mrs. SutapaSanyal, IPS, DGP, UP Police.

Ms. MeenakshiLekhi, Member Parliament and Spokesperson, BJP addressed the audience in a special session on ‘Securing our cities.’ While giving the keynote address, Shri. Gopal Pillai, IAS (Retd.), Former Union Home and Commerce Secretary, Government of India threw light upon the importance ofCommunity Policing. Other important topics that were discussed during the conference were modernization of police forces, safety as an integral part of Smart Cities, case studies on smart policing initiatives in India and role of private security as a force multiplier among others.

Speaking at the session on Smart Policing, Mr. Ashok Bajpai, MD, G4S Indiaremarked, “We believe that in a world of evolving threats, security cannot remain as an afterthought but it has become the need of the hour. To
