Cidco rolls out CCTV project in Kharghar

Cidco has finally placed 129 CCTV cameras in Kharghar, after three extensions since tendering in September 2014. The installation is part one of first phase of Rs 180.65 crore, covering south city area. Police sources said these high-quality cameras can detect speed, send alerts and also do automatic number plate recognition.

Hemant Nagrale, Commissioner of Police, will inaugurate the temporary command centre atop Belapur railway station. Cidco is in the process of tendering for the new integrated command centre, to be developed on a 400 sq m plot behind Cidco Bhavan. It is expected to be completed in seven months. The upcoming centre will help in joint monitoring of NMMC and Cidco areas, said sources in police department.
Mohan Ninawe, senior PRO, Cidco said, “Two emergency call centres have been provided at Hiranandani circle and Shilp chowk.”
