History

ST-LaunchSECURITY TODAY was born out of an idea that was brought to the market before it’s time. The idea of disseminating information and knowledge in the Indian Security Industry!

The company, 1st Academy of Security Science, Education & Training Pvt. Ltd. (1st ASSET), the publisher of SECURITY TODAY was incorporated in June 2000 with the objective of imparting skills and training to those who were keen to acquire knowledge and become aware of the latest best practices and technological updates in the security industry.

Perhaps the idea of fulfilling the above objective was tried before it’s time, the security industry then was not willing to invest in training for professional development. As a result, our cash register did not ring for over three years!

Just as the promoters were looking for options, a well-wisher suggested that perhaps, as the security market had not matured, the people involved in the security profession were only ready for some inexpensive form of education, and that too, delivered at their doorsteps! The idea of a high-quality security magazine took shape and SECURITY TODAY was finally introduced into the Indian market in October 2004. It was formally launched with fanfare by India’s ‘Super Cop’ Mr. KPS Gill, renowned motivational speaker & author, Mr. Shiv Khera and Mr. RS Gupta (IPS) the former Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

By playing the role of a catalyst that fuels the organized growth of India’s booming protection industry SECURITY TODAY has emerged to be India’s largest circulated and the best read professional monthly magazine dedicated to the security and safety sector.

Our target audience includes CSOs, CISOs, End Users of Security, Homeland Security & Defence Personnel, Law Enforcement Officers, IT Security Practitioners, and other Security Professionals. SECURITY TODAY is rated as the No.1 protection industry publication in the Indian Region.

SECURITY TODAY was awarded as the Best Security Industry Publication in Nov 2017,
by the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sh. Gangaram Ahir for its educative articles and its sustained efforts to bridge the gap between the suppliers of the latest technology and best services and the End Users of security.
